Hoarding

(1) the acquisition of, and failure to discard, a large number of possessions that appear to be of useless or of limited value; (2) living spaces sufficiently cluttered so as to preclude activities for which those spaces were designed; and (3) significant distress or impairment in functioning caused by the hoarding. (http://understanding_ocd.tripod.com/hoarding.html)

These types of situations are not uncommon. Most people are embarrassed by how they have let their living space get out of hand and keep quiet about it, so much so that family members rarely ever know. This may be caused by depression or illness where the person may not feel well enough to clean up or discard of trash and belongings. It will then get to be too much for one person to take care of by themselves. We can assist in these types of cleanups, helping get back to a normal living environment.
